I agree Jim. We have not had that position filled since Rich Ruggiero. This is a very important position in the AMU structure, right now, none of the AMU staff is initial attack tanker qualified. A tanker qualified AMU staff member would add to the overall safety of the program and facilitate effective communication with the field.
The CAL FIRE aviation program operates the largest Goverment owned aerial firefighting fleet in the world. In order to stay progressive and plan for the future, the open AMU positions should be filled. There are plenty of qualified candidates out there.....
