AAP Message Board Policy

The Associated Airtanker Pilots Board of Directors have instituted the following policy.

Message Board Intent

The intent of the message board forum is to allow for free discussion relating to aircraft, fire or similar topics.

Messages will usually remain on the message board for a period of 30 days. This may be adjusted, depending on the total number of messages at the time, degree of relevancy and whether the message addresses dated events. There is no archive.

Registration

Registration is available for users. Registered users have an advantage in marginal areas of posted messages.

Procedure
Registration is initiated by sending a request stating your full real name. If you wish to use a pseudonym rather than your real name for posting messages, indicate this. Only one pseudonym will be allowed.
Once you have posted a message, your IP address will be added to your registration.

Requirement for registration.
There is no requirement for registration. If you confine messages to the stated intent of the message board and use no abusive or obscene language, there may be no problem.

All posts to the message board require a valid email address.

Inaccurate information.
Information not accurately reported will result in losing registration benefits.

Control of message board

All messages will be monitored and viewed for relevancy and obscene, abusive or otherwise unacceptable language.

All posters
Abusive or obscene language will result in immediate removal of the message. If the message is flagrantly abusive, contains obscene language, or is otherwise blatantly unacceptable, it will be removed and the poster will be prohibited from further posts.

Registered posters
Messages by registered posters will be given more latitude when messages are borderline. Posters of messages that are not relevant (or marginally on topic) will be contacted by the webmaster and given the opportunity to request that the message not be removed.

Unregistered posters
Messages posted that do not conform to declared scope and intent will be removed.

Enforcement of this policy is at the sole discretion and judgment of the webmaster. If you think your message could possibly be interpreted to not conform with this policy, don't post it.

Restricted use of message board

Various reasons, from excess bandwidth to unauthorized posting, may result in restricted access.

The message board may be closed to all access, or it may be restricted to those who have obtained a proper password. Passwords may be changed periodically.

Authority for restricting access lies with the webmaster.
